Besides the central PM Surya Ghar Yojana subsidy, many states offer additional incentives that further reduce your solar installation cost.

Central Government Subsidy (All States)

  • Up to 2 kW: ₹30,000 per kW
  • 2–3 kW: ₹18,000 per kW (additional)
  • Maximum: ₹78,000 per household

State-wise Additional Incentives

Maharashtra

  • Additional ₹10,000–₹15,000 for rural households
  • MSEDCL simplified net metering approval
  • Solar policy target: 7,000 MW by 2025

Gujarat

Tamil Nadu

  • TANGEDCO manages rooftop solar applications
  • Additional ₹20,000 for SC/ST households

How to Claim Both Central + State Subsidies

  1. Apply on pmsuryaghar.gov.in for central subsidy
  2. Simultaneously apply on your state's renewable energy agency website
  3. Use a single MNRE-approved installer who handles both applications
  4. Submit combined documents for faster processing
